About The Position
A rehabilitative healthcare hospital in the Jackson, Mississippi area, dedicated to supporting patient recovery through comprehensive therapy and clinical services, is seeking a Cafeteria Cook to join its dietary team. This organization provides a structured, mission-driven environment where food service plays a key role in patient care and overall hospital operations. The Cafeteria Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines while supporting daily food service operations. In addition to cooking, this role assists with retail food service, serving meals on the patient line, food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen environment. The position is scheduled from 10:15 AM to 7:00 PM but requires availability to work any shift, any day of the week, including weekends and holidays .
Requirements
- Previous institutional cooking experience required
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to follow food safety and sanitation standards
- Must pass a drug screen and background check
