About The Position

Under the supervision of the Administrative Nurse, the Hospital Asst III: performs patient care duties directed toward positive patient outcomes. Job duties include but are not limited to: checking in patients, collection of vital signs, collecting patient information as directed by a healthcare provider, coordinating clinic flow to ensure maximum efficiency for the health care providers and patients, assisting providers with procedures as needed, transporting patients, coordinating video visits, coordinating the exchange of patient information with outside practices and maintaining a clean, safe patient care environment. The Hospital Asst III demonstrates excellent internal and external customer service skills, supports fellow nursing staff and clinic providers as needed, ensures proper and accurate documentation of patient/provider communications, participates in quality assurance, quality control and quality improvement projects, maintains clinical logs (ie: POCT logs), participates in medical record audits, and schedules patient appointments as needed. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $32.86 - $41.01 (Hourly Rate). Requirements

  • A minimum of 6 months of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient clinic
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 2 years of outpatient medical assistant experience
  • Certification from an approved Medical Assistant program
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic medical record system
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Second language skills
