About The Position

The Hospital Administrator at Oceans Healthcare is responsible for the overall leadership and operation of a new behavioral health facility in Jackson, MS, set to open in fall 2024. This role involves overseeing the facility's services, departments, budget, and functions while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Administrator will lead the facility's mission, manage staffing, financial performance, and strategic planning, and serve as a liaison with the community and medical staff.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Behavioral Services, Administration, or a related healthcare field.
  • At least three years of full-time experience in progressively responsible management positions in healthcare (or five years with a Bachelor's Degree, or ten years in hospital administration).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of third-party payer needs and cultural sensitivity.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of State, Federal regulations, and Joint Commission standards.
  • CPR certification and completion of an approved behavioral health de-escalation program.

  • Experience in behavioral health services management.
  • Familiarity with community health needs and resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall operation of the hospital, reporting to the Governing Board.
  • Prepare and advise on the annual budget, ensuring controlled expenditures.
  • Recruit, employ, and direct adequate trained personnel, delegating duties appropriately.
  • Submit monthly reports on professional services and financial activities.
  • Assist the Governing Body in formulating policy and presenting long-term and short-term plans.
  • Attend Medical Staff meetings and coordinate with departmental representatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and effective communication of policies to staff.
  • Assess patient flow issues and their impact on safety.
