About The Position

VCA Highlands Ranch Animal Specialty and Emergency is looking for an experienced Hospital Administrator to join our team! We are a well-established, 24-Hour Emergency and Specialty Hospital in beautiful Highlands Ranch, Colorado. We are a 24-hour critical care hospital providing a variety of specialties including Internal Medicine, Emergency/Critical Care, Surgery, Oncology and Dentistry. As a Hospital Administrator you will be responsible for a wide range of complex administrative activities to ensure quality patient care, excellent client service, management of finances and accounting, marketing, promotion of services, staffing and human resources, and discretionary activities that serve to support effective business operations. You will oversee the performance of approximately 40 associates including doctors, technicians, veterinary assistants, and paraprofessional staff. You will be joining an organization that genuinely values local input and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of strong leadership experience in developing a solid team and proven success.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, hotel management and or business administration or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2-3 year’s experience in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management or Business Administration and operations management with profit and loss responsibility.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques.
  • Human resource skills.
  • Client relations training and experience.
  • Excellent customer service and personnel management experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Highly emotionally intelligent leader with proven skills to effectively communicate with a strong team.
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with high levels of stress in an environment of changing priorities.
  • Ability to balance short-term needs and priorities while building for the future.
  • Flexibility in schedule and hours of availability.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior specialty/emergency veterinary management knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Accountability for the hospital profit & loss statements.
  • Partner with the Medical Director to facilitate delivery of the best possible medical and surgical care to our patients.
  • Responsibility to foster a collaborative and positive culture and work environment.
  • Responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hospital, by accomplishing performance objectives focused on business revenues, client, and associate satisfaction.
  • Focus on exceeding client expectations.
  • Partner with Marketing Manager in promoting the hospital & cultivating relationships within the veterinary community.
  • Develop and grow future leaders.
  • Oversight and development of onboarding, training, and continued growth of our associates.
  • Support the recruitment and retention of medical professionals.
