About The Position

Shriners Children’s Greenville is seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Hospital Administrator to lead facility operations and performance. The Administrator reports to the Regional Administrator, as designated by the Vice President, Hospital Operations, for management items and to the Chairman, Board of Governors (BOG) for governance matters. The Shriners Children’s Greenville Administrator plays a pivotal role in shaping the facility’s future, ensuring that every aspect of performance is carefully managed to foster a culture of excellence. The successful candidate for this role will be both highly visible and accessible to team members. By prioritizing quality, access, and growth, the Administrator leads efforts to deliver outstanding care and drive optimal patient outcomes, positioning the facility to achieve Vision 2035 targets. Their responsibilities encompass not only patient satisfaction, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, safety, and financial stewardship but also the ongoing development of strategies that enhance both operational efficiency and service standards. The Hospital Administrator is accountable for all aspects of the facility’s performance including development of the required to drive quality care and optimal patient outcomes, achieving established metrics, exceeding patient and staff satisfaction, regulatory compliance, safety, and financial stewardship. Responsible for the alignment and execution of strategic goals with the overall mission of Shriners Children’s. The Administrator is accountable for meeting all financial and volume targets established annually and for aligning strategic goals with the Shriners Children’s Vision 2035. By providing value-driven leadership and offering both guidance to management and partnering with medical staff, they ensure compliance with SHC Hospital Regulations and Bylaws and promote high standards in clinical care, planning, and business development. A key focus in this role is engaging others in change management and organizational transformation, developing strong collaborative relationships across facility, market, and system leadership. The Administrator must be able to develop action and tactics to create operational efficiencies and strategic alignment, whether through optimizing resources, centralizing functions, or implementing shared services models. To advance Vision 2035, the Administrator champions continuous improvement initiatives, drawing on industry best practices and quality assessment tools to identify and meet customer needs. By elevating service standards and driving innovation, they position Shriners Children’s Greenville to expand access, enhance quality, and fuel sustainable growth, ensuring the facility remains at the forefront of pediatric care for years to come.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Management or related healthcare field.
  • 10+ years of progressive healthcare leadership in an acute care hospital/multi-disciplinary healthcare setting
  • Strong computer skill proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, EMR, and reporting platforms
  • Experience in KPI management, productivity analytics, and dashboard tools

Nice To Haves

  • 7+ years experience at the Vice President or senior director level.
  • 7+ years leadership experience within a nonprofit healthcare system.
  • 5+ years of leadership oversight in pediatric healthcare.
  • Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE).

Responsibilities

  • Leads facility-wide performance, ensuring exceptional quality, safety, patient outcomes, patient and staff experience, and full regulatory/accreditation compliance.
  • Sets strategy and operating plans; establishes performance metrics and accountability to deliver measurable results aligned with enterprise priorities.
  • Builds and develops a high-performing leadership team; leads talent acquisition, engagement, development, and retention to sustain a values-driven culture.
  • Champions an inclusive, collaborative environment; communicates with transparency and navigates complex, matrixed stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Leads change management and continuous improvement using best practices, benchmarking, and operational discipline to improve effectiveness and service delivery.
  • Strengthens the facility’s market position by advancing business development priorities and maintaining strong affiliate/community relationships.
  • Provides strong financial stewardship, including operating and capital budgeting, variance management, and prudent use of resources consistent with organizational expectations.
  • Oversees site capital and contracting processes; ensures requests and expenditures align with budget, strategy, follow established review processes, and deliver appropriate value.
  • Drives operational efficiencies through resource optimization and, where appropriate, centralization and shared-services models.
  • Ensures effective revenue cycle and access operations (intake/registration/scheduling) to support timely care, data accuracy, and achievement of facility and system targets.
  • Partners with medical staff leaders to advance the mission, quality, and fiscal responsibility; supports physician recruitment and retention.
  • For SHC-designated research centers, partners with the Vice President, Research to support research operations and ensure compliance with applicable SHC, government, and industry requirements.
