Hospice Volunteer Opportunities-Unpaid

Interim HealthCare - Houston, TX (McCoy)Pearland, TX

About The Position

Bring comfort and companionship to someone during their most meaningful moments by joining the Hospice volunteer team at Interim Healthcare. Whether you enjoy spending time one on one, helping behind the scenes, or sharing a special talent, there’s a place for you here. Explore the many ways you can brighten someone’s day and find the volunteer role that fits you best. Hospice volunteers provide a variety of direct and indirect services to patients and their families. Visits to provide companionship, caregiver relief, errands, music therapy and other services are examples of direct services. Phone calls, pen-pals, and special projects like blanket crafting are examples of indirect services. Volunteers can also get involved with administrative support by assisting in the office. What the hospice volunteer does is determined by their abilities and interests. Administrative / Indirect Volunteer: Support our team behind the scenes by assisting with light office tasks, assembling information packets, preparing cards for clients, organizing materials, or helping with special projects. Volunteers may also help with delivering essential supplies to seniors and bringing cakes or small treats to celebrate patients’ birthdays, creating warm, personal moments that make seniors feel remembered and valued. Your contributions help us serve seniors more efficiently and with greater care. Direct Volunteer: Spend time with patients one on one. Activities may include reading, playing games, sharing hobbies, conversations, or providing a comforting presence. Volunteers may also assist with simple household tasks, such as light cleaning, tidying, mowing the lawn, or walking the senior’s dog, running errands, helping them maintain a safe, comfortable, and supported home environment. Your visits can bring joy, reduce loneliness, and offer meaningful social connection.
