About The Position

In this role, you’ll lead our hospice volunteer program—from recruiting and onboarding to training, coaching, and ongoing support. You’ll work closely with our interdisciplinary team to match volunteers with patient and family needs, ensuring they serve safely, meaningfully, and in alignment with hospice standards.

Requirements

  • Experienced volunteer coordinator (hospice experience required)
  • Organized, proactive, with excellent at communication
  • Compassionate and dependable, with strong relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable working independently while supporting a collaborative team
  • Strong understanding of the emotional, cultural, and spiritual aspects of hospice care
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for community travel

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, screen, train, and mentor hospice volunteers
  • Coordinate volunteer assignments based on patient needs and volunteer strengths
  • Maintain accurate documentation, schedules, and compliance records
  • Support volunteers with ongoing communication, recognition, and continuing education
  • Partner with community organizations to promote volunteer engagement
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to integrate volunteers into patient care plans
