The Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Assistant supports the Volunteer Coordinator in recruiting, training, schedule, and retaining hospice volunteers. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that volunteers are well-prepared and supported to provide companionship, respite, and assistance to patients and families.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, college preferred but not required
- excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- compassionate and respectful approach to working with patients, families, and volunteers
- Drivers license is acceptable abstract
- vehicle insurance
- acceptable background check
- flexible schedule
Nice To Haves
- previous administrative, volunteer management, or hospice experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new hospice volunteers
- maintain volunteer records, schedules, and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
- help coordinate volunteer assignments based on patient and family needs
- provide ongoing communication and support to volunteers
- assist in planning volunteer appreciation and recognition events
- support community outreach and engagement to promote volunteer opportunities
- perform administrative tasks such as data entry and report preparation
