Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–2 years of healthcare scheduling experience (hospice or home health preferred)
  • Experience with EMR/scheduling platforms (HCHB, WellSky, or similar)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and manage competing priorities
  • Understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy standards
  • A compassionate mindset and genuine desire to support patients and families

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly schedules for hospice field staff
  • Align clinician assignments with patient needs, qualifications, and geography
  • Collaborate with clinical supervisors to manage open visits and PTO coverage
  • Accurately establish and track hospice benefit periods
  • Schedule face-to-face visits with the nurse practitioner
  • Respond quickly and professionally to urgent or last-minute needs
  • Communicate schedule updates clearly and efficiently to field staff
  • Review visit logs and support documentation compliance
  • Maintain accurate records within EMR/scheduling systems
  • Serve as a key liaison between clinical and administrative teams
  • Support onboarding by coordinating schedules for new team members
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements
