About The Position

Empath Health is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Care Center team. In this PRN role, you'll provide skilled nursing care to patients with life-limiting or complex illnesses, delivering services across our facilities and supporting families during critical stages of care. This position is overnight (8:00 PM - 8:30 AM) with flexible scheduling to meet patient and organizational needs. Why Join Empath Health? Requirements

  • Active Florida RN license
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, preferably with terminally ill or chronically ill patients; acute or post-acute care experience preferred
  • CPR certification (American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing and walking for long periods, and bending, squatting, or reaching as needed
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, communication, and care coordination skills
  • Flexibility to work at alternate facilities as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care to patients across the Care Center
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer, monitor, and document medications via all routes, following best practice age-specific care guidelines
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (IDT), physicians, and families to coordinate care and evaluate progress
  • Apply palliative care and end-of-life principles with compassion and professionalism
  • Promote patient safety through infection control, adherence to policies, and teaching patients and families
  • Supervise and support LPNs and Home Health Aides as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR according to policy and guidelines
  • Participate in educational programs, mandatory trainings, and competency evaluations
  • Support Care Center operations including staffing ratios, disaster preparedness, and regulatory compliance
