About The Position

RN (Full-Time, On-Call). 7 Days On and 7 Days off. Hours are 5:00 pm Monday - 8:00 am the following Monday. $5,000 Hire Bonus payable: $1,500 after 30-days, $1,500 after 60-days, $2,000 after 90-days. Requirements

  • RN skills as defined as generally accepted standard of practice. Knowledge of State and Federal regulations.
  • Cooperative attitude with the ability to work well with others in a tactful and diplomatic manner to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, set priorities, multi-task, organize work and make independent decisions.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to handle stress associated with ministering to patients and their loved ones who experience pain, suffering, death and grief.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, anticipate and implement patient needs and prioritize workload.
  • Knowledge of hospice policies, rules/regulations of state and federal licensing agencies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and related business communication tools.
  • RN with unencumbered license in the state of Texas.
  • Two years’ experience as an RN in a clinical care setting and 1 year full-time hospice.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements.
  • Participate in physical activity.
  • Work for extended period of time while standing.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds and move patients.
  • Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assess hospice clients utilizing the Nursing Assessment and LCD criteria to identify the physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs.
  • Develop and document the plan of care.
  • Provide skilled nursing services and/or treatments requiring substantial and specialized nursing skill.
  • Coordinate patient care, make necessary referrals and report to physicians/other staff members changes in client needs.
  • Provide effective communication to client/family, team members, and other health care professionals in meeting nursing and other needs.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner.
  • Supervise and provide clinical direction to Home Health Aides/LVNs providing services.
