About The Position

This position is part-time, specifically designed for a weekend program from 8 AM to 8 PM every Saturday and Sunday in the Racine/Kenosha area. The role involves providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care, incorporating concepts of responsibility, accountability, clinical decision-making, authority, shared governance, and critical thinking in daily nursing practice. The Nurse Clinician II will utilize the nursing process to oversee patient care, ensuring a holistic approach to patients and families while assuming leadership responsibilities at the unit level.

Requirements

  • Current Illinois RN license.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience.
  • Earn 10.0 continuing education credits annually.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills.
  • Good time management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated proficiency for the requirements for NC I.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts.
  • Experience in hospice or palliative care.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a therapeutic relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
  • Provides individualized care to promote physical and psychosocial comfort.
  • Assesses patient and family readiness and involves them in planning and implementing care.
  • Incorporates an individualized, holistic approach in the plan of care.
  • Continually evaluates patients’ and significant others’ response to interventions and appropriately modifies the plan of care.
  • Collaborates with physicians and/or other health care professionals in developing relationships, plans of care, and age-specific strategies.
  • Supports patient’s decision to question, refuse, or terminate treatment.
  • Provides supportive care to family members and involved caregivers throughout the patient’s illness.
  • Facilitates the patient and family’s right to receive quality, cost-effective care.
  • Participates in quality/process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to meeting the learning needs of patients and families.
  • Plans, implements, and provides follow-up education for patients and significant others.
  • Recognizes changes in clinical situations and evaluates and implements changes to the plan of care.
  • Participates in unit meetings and activities that improve patient care or administrative systems.
