About The Position

For over 125 years, Calvary Hospital and Calvary @Home located in the Bronx, New York has been dedicated to the palliative care of advanced cancer and other terminally ill patients and their families. Through a caring, compassionate, philosophy of non-abandonment, the hospice provides a full spectrum of palliative services, including emotional, spiritual, and physical care. The hospice receives patients from referring institutions throughout New York City and the entire tristate area. The Hospice RN Team Leader provides direct supervision and support to assigned nursing and paraprofessional staff under the guidance of the Team Manager. This role ensures day-to-day coordination of patient care activities, compliance with agency standards, and fosters a collaborative team environment. The Team Leader serves as a clinical resource, assists with staff development, and promotes quality care aligned with Calvary Hospice’s mission and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of hospice nursing experience, with at least one year in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Current NY State Registered Nurse license.
• Valid NYS driver’s license for specific areas.
• Progressive management experience with supervisory experience.
• Strong clinical expertise in hospice care and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
• Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Exhibits attitude consistent with the philosophy and mission of Calvary Hospital.

Nice To Haves

• BSN from an accredited school is Preferred.
• Master's degree (MSN) preferred.
• Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care (CHPN) required or must be completed within two year of hire.
• COVID-19 vaccination is strongly encouraged for all new hires prior to beginning employment at Calvary Hospital.
