Requirements

• MD with active, unrestricted Washington State medical license
• Board‑certified or board‑eligible (Hospice & Palliative Medicine preferred)
• Experience in hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, or internal medicine
• DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to high‑quality, compassionate, patient‑centered care

Nice To Haves

• Board‑certified or board‑eligible (Hospice & Palliative Medicine preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide hospice physician services in accordance with CMS, state, and hospice regulations
• Conduct admissions, recertifications, and required face‑to‑face encounters
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (RN, social work, spiritual care, case management)
• Manage pain and symptom control for terminally ill patients
• Provide guidance on goals of care and advance care planning
• Communicate with patients, families, attending physicians, and care partners
• Complete timely clinical documentation in the electronic medical record
• Support quality improvement and regulatory compliance initiatives
