We are currently seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Hospice Nurse (RN) to join our well-respected Waterloo office team. Job Overview Title: Hospice Nurse (RN) Location: Waterloo office (may be assigned to help at any CVH location as needed) Job Schedule: Full Time (1.0 FTE) Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, 40 hours per week Cedar Valley Hospice offers flexible work arrangements to work around the needs of your family! Four 10-hour days and adjusted work hours are available. (Flexible work arrangements available after 90 day probation period.) This position requires an average of 1-2 weekends per year and 1-2 weeknights per month of on-call coverage. A holiday on call rotation is also required.

Requirements

  • Current Iowa state RN license.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills with the ability to learn work-related software and have basic typing skills.
  • Current Iowa driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and car insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
  • 2 years of recent experience as a nurse in a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in hospice or home care nursing.
  • Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing assessment of the physical, emotional, and mental statuses of patients/families.
  • Provide direct nursing care in compliance with physician’s orders to assigned patients/families.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition and updates medication list and plan of care to reflect changes.
  • Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and participate in developing and updating the patients’ plans of care.
