About The Position

The Hospice Activities Asistant plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for hospice patients by designing and implementing meaningful recreational and therapeutic activities tailored to their unique needs and abilities. This position requires close collaboration with interdisciplinary hospice care teams to ensure activities support patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. The coordinator will assess patient interests and capabilities to create individualized activity plans that promote comfort, engagement, and dignity during end-of-life care. Additionally, the role involves providing support and education to family members and caregivers to encourage participation and understanding of the activities. Ultimately, the Hospice Activities Coordinator contributes to a compassionate care environment that fosters connection, reduces isolation, and improves overall patient satisfaction in the hospice setting.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or higher in marketing, communications, health care, or related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience or coursework in event marketing or event coordination.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic proficiency with digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and interact compassionately with diverse patient populations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a health care or community services setting.
  • Certification in event planning or marketing (e.g., CMP, CEM) is advantageous is a plus
  • Familiarity with health care regulations and patient privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Proficiency in graphic design or content creation software to support marketing efforts.
  • Bilingual abilities or experience working with multicultural communities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of event marketing plans tailored to health care activities and programs.
  • Coordinate logistics for events including scheduling, venue preparation, and resource allocation to ensure seamless execution.
  • Engage with patients, families, and staff to promote upcoming activities and encourage active participation.
  • Maintain accurate records of event attendance, feedback, and outcomes to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to align activities with therapeutic goals and organizational objectives.
