Were supporting this launch by identifying a Hospice Clinical Director who can establish strong clinical practices from day one and shape the standard of care for families across Central Texas. This role is ideal for an experienced hospice RN leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, values regulatory excellence, and is ready to step into a leadership position where their impact is visible every single day.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field.
  • Active RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Minimum 2 years of hospice or palliative clinical experience .
  • Comprehensive understanding of Medicare/Medicaid hospice regulations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient mobility when needed.
  • Ability to bend, climb stairs, stand/walk for extended periods, and navigate diverse home environments.
  • Must respond effectively during urgent or emergent situations.
  • Maintain reliability, professionalism, and calmness in high-stress situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous hospice leadership or management experience.
  • Experience in guiding and developing multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily hospice operations to ensure safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with medical directors, nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to review and optimize plans of care.
  • Conduct regular clinical audits, chart reviews, and quality assessments to ensure adherence to hospice standards, Medicare/Medicaid regulations, and agency protocols.
  • Manage, mentor, and support nursing and clinical staff through ongoing education, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Lead recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and retention efforts to maintain a strong clinical workforce.
  • Set schedules, assign duties, approve time off, and ensure adequate coverage across all shifts.
  • Serve as a professional role model, promoting integrity, teamwork, and a positive patient-centered culture.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentationespecially related to condition changes, medication administration, and insurance requirements.
  • Work closely with the Administrator to ensure efficient daily operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the organization professionally with families, community partners, and regulatory bodies.
  • Address concerns with empathy and efficiency, ensuring families feel supported and informed.
  • Collaborate with caregivers and healthcare partners to maintain continuity and quality of care.
