About The Position
As a Hospice Chaplain, you will provide spiritual care and emotional support to patients, families, and caregivers in a multi-faith, multi-cultural environment. You’ll collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care during end-of-life journeys.
Requirements
- Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of hospice or palliative care experience
- Previous pastoral ministry or chaplaincy experience
- Comfort working in an interfaith setting and respecting diverse beliefs
- Current BLS certification
- Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of hospice philosophy and end-of-life spiritual care
Responsibilities
- Conduct spiritual assessments and develop individualized care plans
- Provide spiritual counseling and support directly or through coordination with community clergy
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to address spiritual needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of spiritual care services
- Offer education and support to hospice staff on spiritual care
- Perform memorial or funeral services as appropriate
- Participate in bereavement activities and provide ongoing support
- Serve as liaison to community clergy and spiritual counselors
