About The Position

Hospice Chaplain – Join Our Compassionate Care Team Are you passionate about providing comfort and spiritual support during life’s most meaningful moments? We’re looking for a dedicated Hospice Chaplain to join our interdisciplinary team and make a difference for patients and families when they need it most. What You’ll Do As a Hospice Chaplain, you’ll play a vital role in supporting patients and families through spiritual care and guidance. Your responsibilities will include:

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree). Experience working with death and dying, individuals/family/caregiver.
  • At least 1 unit of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education)
  • Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group.
  • Comfort in an interfaith setting.
  • Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
  • Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order.

Nice To Haves

  • Hospice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting spiritual assessments and ensuring timely, appropriate care.
  • Collaborating with the care team to develop individualized plans that meet spiritual needs.
  • Providing direct spiritual care and emotional support to patients and caregivers.
  • Serving as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors.
  • Documenting services and maintaining records for quality assurance.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary meetings and offering education on spiritual care.
  • Recruiting and supporting spiritual care volunteers and community clergy.
  • Leading memorial services and offering funeral support when requested.
  • Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and team development.
