About The Position

Hillcrest Health & Living is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Chaplain to join our Iowa hospice team full-time. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Studies, or a related field required
• Minimum of two years providing pastoral services through a church, parish, synagogue, or healthcare setting
• Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to provide interfaith support

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience supporting patients and families facing death, dying, and bereavement in hospice or healthcare preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral, spiritual, and bereavement support to hospice patients and families in accordance with individualized plans of care
• Offer counseling and emotional support during end-of-life transitions
• Complete documentation and charting in compliance with state and federal hospice regulations
• Respond to referrals, conduct hospice informational visits, and assist with the consent process for new patients
• Design and lead prayer services, memorials, and other liturgical services as appropriate
• Collaborate actively within the interdisciplinary team to address and resolve spiritual concerns
• Coordinate care with community clergy and spiritual leaders when appropriate
