Position Summary: Under the direction of the interdisciplinary team, the Hospice Nurse works under the general direction of the Hospice Medical Director and the attending Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) in the provision of skilled nursing assessment, planning and care to maximize the patient’s comfort at end of life and support the patient’s families/ primary caregivers. The Hospice RN is responsible for identifying patient/family needs and for providing supportive care in accordance with the attending LIP’s orders, the interdisciplinary plan of care and Guthrie Hospice policies and procedures. Responsible for providing direct supervision of Home Health Aides and or LPN’s providing care for Guthrie Hospice.
