About The Position

BJC Home Care provides a comprehensive range of home care services, including skilled nursing, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment, and high-tech respiratory care. They also offer specialty home care programs for conditions like asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic, and wound care. Serving over 25 counties in Missouri and Illinois, BJC Home Care is a large regional network. Hospice care, the final stage of BJC's continuum of care, focuses on patients with life-limiting illnesses. Services are delivered in the patient's home or a skilled nursing facility, with a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and volunteers. This team is specially trained in symptom management, pain control, counseling, and bereavement services for terminally ill adult and pediatric patients and their families. The Hospice program also incorporates alternative therapies such as music, art, and massage therapy, providing palliative care to help patients manage pain and symptoms while maintaining dignity.

Requirements

• Doctorate - Medicine
• 2-5 years experience
• Licensed Physician

Responsibilities

• Manages the medical care of assigned patients.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
• Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.
• Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service.
• Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
