About The Position

The Hospice Associate Chaplain assists patients and families in meeting their psychosocial, social, spiritual, and emotional needs during illness and death. This position provides pastoral ministry through visitation, counsel, and support to patients and families, as requested. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Provides a clinical basis to the ministry by sound, applied spiritual and psychological principles such as active listening, reflection, discussion, and prayer. Responds promptly to calls, providing spiritual and emotional support to patients and families. Serves in an on-call rotation and provides patient care outside of regular business hours. Functions as a part of an interdisciplinary team providing hospice care to patient and families. Documents patient care information and ensures timely and accurate completion of patient care records in accordance with policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree- Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality- Required
  • 1 Unit- Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)- Required
  • Auto Insurance- Required
  • Driver's License- Required
  • 2 Years- Ministerial Experience- Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree- Divinity, Theology, Religion or Christian Spirituality- Preferred
  • 1 Year- Hospice Experience- Preferred
  • 1 Year- Healthcare Experience- Preferred
