About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Hospice Aide to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients with terminal illnesses. The Hospice Aide will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families by delivering personal care and support in a home health setting. This position requires a strong commitment to patient dignity, comfort, and respect.

Requirements

• Previous experience in hospice care or home health is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of patient care techniques and medical terminology is essential.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is maintained.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with patient care, including lifting and transferring patients safely.
• A compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care to those in need.
• Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or equivalent training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Provide catheter care and ensure proper hygiene practices are followed.
• Support patients with mobility and transfers to enhance their comfort and safety.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
• Document patient care activities accurately, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and changes in condition.
• Assist with basic medical tasks as directed by nursing staff, utilizing knowledge of medical terminology.
• Foster a supportive environment for patients with developmental disabilities through empathetic interaction.
