About The Position

At Compassus, the Hospice Admissions Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing compassionate care to patients and their families. This position is based out of the Kyle, TX office, covering the South Austin territory, with a schedule of Monday - Thursday, 12:00pm - 10:00pm. The RN will be responsible for assessing patients for hospice eligibility, explaining hospice care services, addressing initial patient needs, and collaborating with the Inter-Disciplinary Team to develop initial plans of care. Requirements

  • RN license in the state you work
  • Two years of experience as a registered nurse
  • Current driver’s license
  • Current CPR and BCLS certification

  • Hospice experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Enable patients to spend quality time with their loved ones and doing the activities they enjoy
  • Assess patients for hospice eligibility and explain hospice care services to patients, families/caregivers
  • Ensure all patient’s initial needs are addressed
  • Collaborate with the Inter-Disciplinary Team members regarding initial plan of care, patient’s condition, and other essential information
