About The Position

We are seeking somebody with excellent design, graphic, computer, written, and verbal communication skills. Candidates should have strong technical skills, be highly motivated and passionate about design, and have strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills. Our organization is fast-paced, and candidates should excel at working as part of a team as well as independently. You must have strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team. You will need to be able to delegate field work to carry out your vision. Maintenance: provide or direct others, when necessary, to provide planter maintenance to include watering, fertilizing, pruning, replacement of vandalized or dead materials, and any other task necessary to keep the planters and plant materials looking beautiful. Landscape Material Procurement: work with local nursery(s) to procure needed material that produces the best materials at the best evaluated cost. Installation: provide or direct others, when necessary, to install all seasonal plantings, to include those landscape areas as well as planters owned and contracted out. Hospitality and Customer Service: While within the district, actively acknowledge pedestrians with a friendly greeting or identify visitors to provide directions, information, city information, or recommendations. Reporting: must be able to provide written reports of accomplishments and tasks completed. Professionalism: maintain a positive, professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism.

  • Landscape/Groundskeeping background
  • Horticulture experience
  • Cultivation
  • Professional grade or Hobby experience = BOTH acceptable
  • Valid Driver's License

  • must be able to safely operate a variety of mechanically powered rolling equipment, and manual and electric hand tools used in horticulture
