Employees in this class are under general supervision. This position includes but is not limited to supervising workers, performing and assigning duties on a daily basis, maintenance of the baseball facility, CPA Intramural Facility, and other areas as assigned. Such duties may include daily maintenance of said athletic facilities, daily inspection of said athletic facilities, pesticide and fertilizer application, training other employees, and inspection of other employees' work. Be able to operate safely and efficiently the machinery used in artificial and natural turf maintenance. Provide service and support for athletic and intramural events. Overtime to support athletic operations is required. Facilities employees may be required to report at their regularly scheduled times during emergency closures or during inclement weather to perform essential functions including snow removal duties. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of specific maintenance techniques used in the maintenance of synthetic and natural turf playing surfaces. Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time. Ability to manage time of self and others in an independent working environment. Knowledge of the proper operation of specialized turf equipment. Possess the skill set required to maintain synthetic turf playing surfaces. Knowledge and ability to diagnose and treat problems with athletic turf playing surfaces. Ability to work overtime as needed. The physical demands of this position include, but are not limited to, standing for long periods of time; frequently bending, kneeling, twisting, lifting, etc.; and repetition of movement.
