Horticulture Team Member
About The Position
Madden’s is an award-winning resort, located on more than 1,000 acres, that anticipates the wishes and desires of vacationers and offers them fantastic golf, upscale dining, lakeside spa, tennis, activity programs for children, biking, shopping, and art gallery with painting classes and almost every kind of on-the-water recreation possible in Minnesota, including fishing. Madden’s is currently seeking a seasonal Horticulture team member for the 2026 season who will assist in the planting and maintaining landscape areas and flower gardens around the resort.
Requirements
- Excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills.
- Great decision-making skills.
- Must be able to work alongside other people and independently.
- Time management.
- Valid Driver’s license is required.
- Primarily stationary such as sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.
- Must have the ability to occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 50 pound boxes and items sometimes repeatedly and carry 5 gallon buckets of water.
- 7:00 AM- 3:00 PM Monday through Friday with varying hours based on sunlight and weather conditions.
- Less than 10% travel required.
Responsibilities
- Operates a EZ-Go or John Deere utility vehicle.
- Works cooperatively with the Resort Grounds Lead Horticulturalist, other horticulture team members and Grounds Assistant Superintendent
- Maintains plantings in the flowerbeds on the resort and golf courses.
- Plants, weeds, waters, and performs other necessary duties to maintain landscaping and gardens.
- May apply liquid and dry fertilizers and nutrients to flowerbeds and landscaped areas.
- Assist in directing activities of assistant gardener.
- Assures all work is done in a safe manner.
- Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Lead Horticulturist and Grounds Assistant Superintendent
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Understands and adheres to Madden’s Smoking and Tobacco Products policy.
- Attending training and staff meetings.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
