About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Horticulture Manager to lead the planning, execution, and long-term performance of plantings across luxury residential and estate landscapes. This role combines advanced horticultural knowledge with team leadership, quality control, and client-facing responsibilities to ensure landscapes consistently meet the highest aesthetic, health, and sustainability standards.

Requirements

  • Degree in Horticulture, Botany, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive horticulture or landscape management experience, preferably within high-end residential or estate environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams, set priorities, and uphold quality standards across multiple properties or crews.
  • Advanced knowledge of plant materials, soil science, irrigation systems, and pest and disease management.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and conduct site inspections as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • ISA Certified Arborist or comparable credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Horticultural Strategy & Planning: Lead plant selection, sourcing, and installation strategies aligned with design intent, site conditions, and long-term landscape performance.
  • Team Leadership & Oversight: Direct and support maintenance and installation teams, setting expectations, establishing best practices, and ensuring consistent horticultural standards across properties.
  • Plant Health & Quality Control: Oversee plant health monitoring, diagnose issues, and manage integrated pest management, fertilization, and disease prevention programs.
  • Soil, Irrigation & Resource Management: Supervise soil testing, amendment programs, and irrigation practices to optimize plant health, water efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Seasonal & Color Program Management: Plan and manage seasonal color rotations, enhancement schedules, and capital plant improvements.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with landscape architects, designers, and operations leadership to align horticultural execution with overall project goals.
  • Client Relations & Consulting: Serve as a trusted horticultural advisor to clients, providing proactive communication, recommendations, and performance updates.
  • Training & Development: Develop and deliver training programs to elevate team knowledge, safety, and horticultural skillsets.
