About The Position

The Horizontal Directional Drilling Foreman will be responsible for overseeing a crew engaged in horizontal directional drilling and related underground utility work primarily in central Indiana and surrounding areas in the Midwest. This role requires a hands-on approach to managing the operations of Horizontal Directional Drill (HDD) machines, ensuring that all work is performed safely and efficiently. The foreman will operate HDD locators and supervise the fusion of HDPE materials, ensuring that all processes meet industry standards and safety regulations. In addition to operational duties, the foreman will be responsible for documentation related to safety meetings, daily reports, time reporting, and receipts. The role also involves locating utilities and generating drill profiles, as well as overseeing the installation and testing of water and sewer connections to mains and service connections. As a crew leader, the foreman must demonstrate strong leadership skills, ensuring that safety protocols are followed and that quality work is performed consistently. The position requires a solid understanding of trenching and excavation safety, as well as the ability to operate various equipment such as excavators, loaders, skid steers, and backhoes as needed. The foreman will also be expected to perform other duties as requested by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the projects undertaken by the crew.
