About The Position

The Levy Company is seeking an experienced Horizontal Directional Drill Operator to operate directional drill rigs and equipment for construction projects. The role involves proficiency in horizontal directional drilling operations, equipment maintenance, and leadership skills while overseeing crew activities. The operator will work primarily outdoors, handling various heavy equipment and ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.

Requirements

• At least three years' experience with directional drill rigs and heavy equipment operation.
• One year of experience with construction directional drilling.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement.
• Advanced skill in construction directional drill operations and routine maintenance.
• Basic mathematical skills and ability to comprehend and apply instructions.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques and standards.
• Experience with Digitrak and Subsite equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate directional drill rig and equipment for construction projects.
• Perform horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations including pilot bore, reaming, and product pullback.
• Operate rod loader systems and manage pump levels.
• Maintain and operate HDD mud mixing equipment and locate equipment.
• Conduct general site preparation, restoration, and right of way maintenance duties.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on equipment.
• Transport equipment to and from jobsites, load and unload equipment, and maintain material inventory on truck.
• Demonstrate leadership skills in the absence of the crew foreman.
• Operate backhoes, excavators, and pot holing machines.
• Perform routine maintenance and upgrade work on machines and equipment.
