Your mission Use your manual machining expertise to return large pump components to like-new condition. You’ll craft precision fits and surfaces that meet demanding specifications and solve real root-cause problems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of manual machining required; 5+ years preferred
• Ability to hold close tolerances and read/interpret blueprints

Nice To Haves

• Journeyman machinist or military Machinist’s Mate, or equivalent experience, desired.
• Background with pumps or rotating equipment strongly considered.
• Perform planing and boring of horizontal pump casings (preferred experience).

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate horizontal boring mills , Vertical Turret Lathes , and manual lathes
• Machine cases, impellers, wear rings, bearing housings, shafts, and covers to +/− 0.001" tolerances.
• Interpret blueprints; plan work using knowledge of metallurgy, layouts, and machining practices.
• Calculate angles, radii, bolt circles, and dimensions to execute complex features.
• Perform planing and boring of horizontal pump casings (preferred experience).
• Operate overhead cranes to handle large components safely.
