About The Position

The Hope House Therapist works to alleviate or stabilize mental health symptoms of selected clients, which impairs their ability to adjust to home, community integration, or maintain living stability; provides therapeutic services to individuals, families or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems such as therapeutic settings by performing the following duties-develop assessment and treatment planning for clients.

Requirements

  • MA/MS in Social Work, psychology, counseling, or related field required
  • License eligible required; license preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record with OHU required levels of coverage for auto insurance

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of related experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains highest ethical standards in keeping with professional affiliations and demonstrates ability to perform strength-oriented practice
  • Provide clinical direction to a residential home team, facilitating clinical meetings, participating in clinical staffing and team meetings
  • Integrates all services provided by serving as a central point of communications for all mental health related services, supportive services treatment and counseling
  • Plans and administers therapeutic treatment to youth and regularly discusses progress toward goals with client and encourages client feedback and client ownership of outcomes
  • Offers coaching, informal and formal training to residential staff
  • Complete Admission Notes, Mental Health Assessments, Individual Treatment Plans, Individual Treatment Plan Reviews, Mental Health Reassessments and Court Reports for each youth in the home within the required time
  • Monitors client progress and periodically reassess client's level of functioning within required time
  • Completes accurate and timely documentation of clinical and case management services provided to youth on a daily basis
  • Completes transition and aftercare as prescribed by the DCF Transition/Aftercare Protocol
  • Ensures there is a medical rule out of symptoms and coordinates the approach with medical and other providers serving the client
  • Provides internal and external trainings as requested
  • Represents OHU at court hearings, meetings, Annual Case Reviews, Child and Family Team Meetings and any other collaborative meetings on behalf of youth and families
  • Adheres to Trauma Informed, Evidence Based Program
  • Performs on-call responsibilities on residential campus
  • Treats all information concerning the program as confidential
