Fillauer is hiring a Hook Fabrication Specialist to perform post-machining work on prosthetic hooks and their components in Chattanooga, TN. Your Impact Performs finishing work, including sanding, aligning, and vulcanizing hook fingers Utilize belt sander, hydraulic press, grinder, heat treat oven and other equipment as required for job Interprets work orders and other verbal or written instructions Meets job deadlines and ensures continuous process flow Documents actions by electronically recording labor and materials for each job Ensures quality standards are met Verifies specifications by measuring and testing completed components Identifies any defective items and handles according to established procedures Resolves production problems by communicating with peers or supervisors Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with company standards

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Experience using basic shop hand tools
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Must be detail focused
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
  • Must possess good communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in utilizing the following equipment: belt sander, grinder, hydraulic press, heat treat oven, and torches
  • Sand blasting experience
  • Metal bending experience

Responsibilities

  • Performs finishing work, including sanding, aligning, and vulcanizing hook fingers
