About The Position

This position is responsible for servicing kitchen exhaust systems by removing grease that has accumulated inside the ducts, hoods, fans and vents of exhaust systems of commercial kitchens. The role involves setting up and taking down equipment, power washing systems to company and industry standards (NFPA 96), pre-scraping greasy buildup, and performing final clean-up. The technician is also responsible for reporting work results, maintaining company equipment and vehicles, operating warehouse equipment safely, monitoring inventory, handling hazardous materials, and performing physically demanding maintenance and repair tasks. Requirements

  • Experience in commercial cleaning
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Willing and able to travel when needed

Responsibilities

  • The set-up and take-down of equipment, including hanging plastic sheeting, mixing chemicals, setting up ladders, wet/dry vacuums, pre-sprayers, garden hoses, and high-pressure hoses
  • Power wash commercial kitchen exhaust systems to include hoods, duct work, filters and exhaust fans per company and industry standards while protecting customers’ facility and equipment.
  • Pre-scrape greasy buildup from affected areas of kitchen exhaust systems
  • Meet the cleaning standards as outlined in NFPA 96
  • Final clean-up in kitchens by wiping down the hoods, mopping up the floors, etc.
  • Report results of work completed in an accurate and timely manner
  • Protect and maintain company equipment.
  • Inspect and maintain the truck and all related equipment, putting in repair requests as necessary to maintain safe operation.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including vehicles, in a way that facilitates the loading and unloading of the truck while observing all safety regulations and manufacturer’s safety instructions for that equipment.
  • Work in a safe manner as outlined by company safety procedures including driver safety and personal protective equipment.
  • Monitors inventory and initiates requests for supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Responsible for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Performs moderately complex physically demanding semi-skilled maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
  • Adheres to the Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, and Company Safety Policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
