About The Position

Job Summary: The Honors College is a selective program for top scholars. Our mission is to develop the next generation of researchers, artists and professionals who embrace curiosity and pursue excellence in their education, social and professional development. The Honors college is looking for a student assistant who can manage our social media and marketing pages, as well as front office duties. The Honors College provides the following to students: Smaller classes (<20 students) allowing for greater engagement with faculty and fellow students A customized curriculum focused on relevance and creativity Service-learning and career development Provides a welcoming environment focused on acceptance, and belonging Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Under direct supervision, duties include but not limited to: Assist with planning, developing, marketing, and implementing programs and events for the Honors College. Advance notification will be provided. Attend mandated staff meetings and training. Responsible for maintaining professional etiquette with assisting with program outreach (phone calls, emails, social media responses). Provide “front of house” services to honors students and other guests Maintain files and records of all programs and events and ensure that necessary paperwork and documentation are completed in a timely manner. Assist with responding to student inquiries via email or in-person appointments. Follow all applicable CSUSB and Honors College policies and procedures. Assisting with key program workshops and events, including but not limited to: orientation, Presidential Scholars’ receptions. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work
  • follow oral instructions
  • work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
  • communicate effectively with all levels
  • read and write English at a level appropriate to the position
  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.
  • Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
  • International students must have full-time enrollment at CSUSB. (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate)
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Social Security Card

Nice To Haves

  • Experience creating and posting social media content
  • Willingness to provide campus tours
  • Knowledge of the Honors College
  • Drivers License
