About The Position

The Parkview Family YMCA is looking for an energetic, outgoing team player to fill the position of swim instructor to help create a safe and positive atmosphere in and around the pool and conduct swimming instruction in accordance with YUSA guidelines.

Requirements

• At least 16 years old.
• Certification by an approved organization, or willingness to be certified.
• Excellent communication, supervisory, and organizational skills.
• Excellent human relations skills and enthusiasm.
• An elevated level of organization, flexibility, and ability to handle difficult situations effectively.
• Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Responsibilities

• Connect: Build effective, authentic relationships with members, swim participants and parents.
• Nurture: Ensure a safe and positive environment for the swim lesson participants to succeed in program goals.
• Inspire: Encourage the involvement of all swim participants.
