About The Position
The City of Orange is looking for dedicated individuals who want to make a difference in the community they serve by becoming a member of one of the best Police Departments in Orange County. The successful candidates will demonstrate a desire for a career in public service through their education and experience. Those candidates who best meet the needs of the City based on application submission will be invited to participate in the selection process. Under general supervision, a Homeless Outreach Specialist plans, organizes, coordinates, and performs outreach, referral, intervention, and case management services for individuals experiencing homelessness within the City of Orange; researches resources available to the community that benefit homeless individuals and enhance services provided by community and other programs; recommends appropriate outreach and engagement services; establishes and maintains effective working relationships with homeless individuals to provide intervention, referral, and case management services; collaborates with service agencies and providers to develop service plans; fosters cooperative working relationships with various public and private groups; provides responsible administrative support and program assistance to department management staff; and performs related work as required.
