Homeless Outreach Specialist
About The Position
The Homeless Outreach Specialist is responsible for providing assessments and outreach services in libraries, coffee shops, community centers, parks, and encampments to engage adults experiencing homelessness. Additional duties for this position include the following: Spend time building relationships with the homeless community to help connect individuals needing mental health, substance use, or medical treatment to available assistance in the community. Explore the community and identify individuals who are appropriate for outreach services. Work with minimal supervision, manage own time effectively, manage a small caseload of clients, and maintain projects/responsibilities. Collaborate with community partners to work toward the goal of ending homelessness.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree, meeting requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
- Mental health experience required, crisis experience preferred
- Valid driver's license and insurable through TCBHC
