About The Position

The homebound teacher will provide five (5) hours of direct service to a student in an off campus setting. This role encourages parental involvement in the student's education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.

Requirements

  • MN Teaching License in Special Education (or ability to obtain an out of field permission in Special Education).
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide five hours of direct service to a student in an off-campus setting.
  • Encourage parental involvement in the student's education.
  • Ensure effective communication with students and parents.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
