About The Position

The Home Visitor position is focused on providing in-home guidance and instruction to families on high-quality parenting and care for infants and toddlers. The role involves meeting with primary caregivers in their home settings to support their parenting journey and ensure the well-being of children enrolled in the Early Head Start Program.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with 1 ½ years or more experience working with children in an early childhood setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families and other Early Head Start staff.
• Ability to work independently and initiate work plans.
• Must be able to use and operate a computer.

Responsibilities

• Recruit and enroll families into the Early Head Start Program.
• Plan and conduct bi-weekly visits to assigned families and record progress.
• Demonstrate activities with children for parents, including transitioning activities.
• Complete and implement lesson plans weekly using the Parent as Teachers Model and creative curriculum.
• Plan and conduct bi-weekly socializations.
• Assist in developing and implementing Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) outcomes for enrolled children.
• Provide parents with information on the Home Visitor program and other infant/toddler curriculum.
• Provide transportation for parents to attend socializations and local parent trainings.
• Enter all Head Start information into the computer and distribute reports to the supervisor.
• Participate in staff training as required.
• Complete family partnership agreements.
• Track and ensure children in the program receive health screenings within the time frame.
• Implement Head Start performance standards into goals and objectives.
• Assist in EHS center classroom as needed due to limited staff.
• Attend monthly parent meetings.
