About The Position

We are seeking a full-time Home Visitor to join our team. Come make a difference in the lives of children and families in our community! The Home Visitor supports the growth and development of children by fostering their social, emotional, intellectual, language, and physical skills through sound infant mental health practices. This position builds strong partnerships with families, helping them understand and support their child's development. The Home Visitor will: Conduct weekly home visits with up to 12 families Develop individualized plans for each child Maintain accurate records, observations, and lesson plans Collaborate with staff and community partners to provide referrals and additional services Assist families in identifying strengths, needs, and goals through Family Partnership Plans CACS works to eliminate the causes and conditions of poverty in Ingham, Eaton, Clinton, and Shiawassee Counties by providing services in early childhood education, nutrition, housing, weatherization, and financial counseling. In 2020, we proudly served more than 18,000 individuals in the Mid-Michigan area. Our goal is to provide services and support that empower individuals and families to achieve their own definition of success and quality of life. Employment with CACS Head Start is contingent upon successful completion of a comprehensive background check, including fingerprinting, in accordance with state and federal licensing requirements and Head Start Performance Standards. All candidates must also pass a pre-employment drug screening. Continued employment is subject to adherence to ongoing background check and health requirements as mandated by licensing regulations and agency policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirement: Home Based CDA OR Associate's Degree (Home Visitor I)- Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Development with 12 or more credits in Family Services.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (Home Visitor II)- Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Development with 12 or more credits in Family Services.
  • OR Associate's Degree (Home Visitor I)- Family Services with 12 or more credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (Home Visitor II)- Family Services with 12 or more credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.
  • A minimum of one year of related experience in education or child development with infants and toddlers is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement weekly lesson plans aligned with program curriculum
  • Maintain updated child records, observations, and anecdotal notes
  • Support children's growth through individualized learning plans
  • Provide families with direct and indirect referral services
  • Build strong family partnerships and assist with Family Partnership Plans
  • Maintain an organized home visiting program and accurate documentation
