Home Visitor II Early Head Start South LA

Volunteers of America Los AngelesLos Angeles, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Volunteers of America (VOALA) is a non-profit human services organization dedicated to serving people in need, strengthening families, and building communities. VOALA provides a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities, including Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans' services, homeless shelters, low-income housing programs, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Through its Head Start and Early Head Start programs, VOALA works with children (ages 0-5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence, and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. These programs offer a broad array of health services, including screenings, referrals, immunization maintenance, nutrition assessments, mental health assessments, and developmental/physical delay determinations. Children receive health and dental services, healthy meals, and nutrition education. The Early Head Start Home Visitor identifies, recruits, and enrolls families into the program, then regularly meets with them to address challenges and needs. Home Visitors empower parents as their child's first teacher, reinforcing this concept with developmentally appropriate activities, and work with parents to establish and achieve Family Partnership Agreement goals.
