About The Position

The Home Loan Specialist II serves as a key member of the restructuring team, functioning as a Loan Processor responsible for ensuring compliance with investor and loan guidelines. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to assess credit conditions accurately. You will review loans to ensure they reach final approval by addressing guideline failures, reviewing documentation, and clearing or requesting conditions. The role also includes verifying system data for AUS accuracy. In essence, this team operates as the “fix‑it” group—resolving complex issues for underwriting, Title, Closing, and client management across Conventional, Jumbo, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non‑QM loans.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience as a loan processor or junior underwriter (familiarity with tax returns and bank statements).
Recent graduates eager to learn and grow within the mortgage industry.
Candidates with experience in insurance, tax, or operational roles.

Responsibilities

Evaluate and process loan applications, ensuring all required conditions are met before moving forward.
Pause processing when credit checks reveal issues or when specific conditions are not satisfied.
Review and rework loan applications to meet investor guidelines.
Ensure compliance with investor requirements, particularly regarding Debt‑to‑Income (DTI) and Loan‑to‑Value (LTV) ratios.
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain adherence to regulatory and investor standards.
