About The Position

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Entry Level Home Inspector to join our team. This role requires travel using a personal vehicle, with mileage reimbursement provided, to service the market. You will be responsible for performing on-site inspections, and light maintenance. The ideal candidate should have a valid driver's license, and be comfortable with long-distance travel. This role is responsible for inspecting the structural and functional aspects of a rental property to ensure it complies with safety and habitability laws. These inspectors thoroughly examine various components of a rental property, including electrical systems, plumbing, heating and cooling systems, roofing, and overall structural integrity. Their primary goal is to identify potential hazards, maintenance issues, or code violations, providing owners and property managers with a comprehensive report. These reports aid in making informed decisions about property maintenance, renovations and the safety concerns.

Requirements

  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Posses strong attention to detail with an eye for residential maintenance
  • Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Have exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Business minded and posses problem-solving skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
  • Proficient in using a smartphone and computer
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and sit, stand, drive for extended periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and prepare thorough inspections of both occupied and unoccupied residential properties
  • Capture detailed photos and provide detailed written documentation of property conditions
  • Utilize special equipment and tools to test and evaluate various property components
  • Verify the completion and quality of work performed by third-party vendors
  • Identify safety hazards, property damage, and potential future maintenance issues
  • Perform light maintenance including lock changes and small repairs
  • Post eviction notices on properties in compliance with company protocols and legal requirements
  • Create efficient commuting routes by prioritizing tasks based on importance and urgency
  • Serve as the company's representative in the field and meet with third-party individuals
  • Other duties, as assigned
