About The Position

Regional Hospice is looking for licensed Certified Nurses' Aides to work with patients in the community. We are looking for full time 40 hours, day/night shift combination. Knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for each patient, providing individualized attention to maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial wellbeing. Assists patient with daily living including, but not limited to, assisting with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, toileting, incontinence care, etc. Frequently assists patient with physical movement activities including, but not limited to, ambulation, transferring, range of motion. Provides care that maintains each patient’s skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears and other damage by changing incontinent patients, turning, repositioning, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin and other areas. Consistently practices safe body mechanics, utilizing lifting equipment Documents on Patient Plan of Care Observes patient for changes in condition or behavior and promptly notifies RN of such changes. Responds to patient needs promptly and courteously. Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of patients in the delivery of care, interacting in a manner that displays warmth and caring.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA training required with documentation of successful completion of training and competency evaluation, leading to certification. The Program must be approved by the Connecticut Department of Public Health
  • One-year experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant required
  • Valid Clean Driver’s License Required

Nice To Haves

  • One-year experience with hospice/end of life care experience preferred
  • Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nursing Assistant (CHPNA) preferred
