About The Position

Become a part of our caring community and help us put health first The Speech Therapist will perform patient assessments, develop individual treatment plans, liaising with teachers, family members, and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy and monitoring progress, and ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy technique. The Speech Therapist assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders. Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans. Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care. Keeping up to date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks. Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies. Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress. Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students. Evaluating patient progress and implementing changes to therapy programs as required. Other Duties The Speech Therapist participates in patient care conferences to discuss the need for the involvement of other members of the health team. Complete appropriate documentation in a timely manner to assure compliance with agency policy. Demonstrate commitment and professional growth by participating in in-service programs and maintaining/improving competency. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct in relation to information that is confidential in nature. Share information only when the recipient's right to access is clearly established and the sharing of such information is in the best interest of the patient. Maintain your required licenses, certifications, and mandatory skill updates. Comply with all policies, local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Provide other duties of healthcare team members as assigned. Use your skills to make an impact

Requirements

  • Currently licensed in the State of Florida
  • CPR certification
  • OSHA Certificate
  • HIV/AIDS Certificate
  • HIPAA Certificate
  • Alzheimer's Certificate
  • Medical Errors Certificate
  • Domestic Violence Certificate
  • Minimum 1+ year(s) professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors.
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.
  • Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record with no more than 2 points within the last 3 years.
  • This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.
