At 38½ weeks, unusual symptoms led to a placental abruption. My daughter lost oxygen, requiring an emergency C-section under general anesthesia. Born not breathing, her Apgar scores were 0/0/0. The pediatrician attempted resuscitation for 17 minutes with no response and was calling time of death as he walked out, when she suddenly took a breath . He intubated her again and later said he'd never seen anything like it; she was ' here for a reason .' Weighing nearly 9 pounds, she came home on monitors and with an NG tube, supported by a compassionate home health nurse whose visits were invaluable. As her needs grew, 20 hours a week of home health nursing helped our family care for her alongside my other children, providing the stability and peace we desperately needed. Tragically, she passed at 11 ½. Later that year, when the agency that served us came up for sale, we purchased it, driven by gratitude and a sense that it was meant to be. I wanted to ensure other families could receive the same dedicated hope and care. A Typical Day in the Life as a Home Health RN Case Manager Your day typically begins in our welcoming offi c e with a rela x ed morning huddle, coffee in hand, to share updates and have a light conversation with your fellow team members and the Dire c tor o f Nursing. Our shared roster of patients focuses on helping them stay stable, independent, and safely at home. Your day will be planned around your patients' management needs, whether a 60-day visit to re-certify the patient's need for care , following up w i th the physician on a patient's status , or a bi-weekly skilled visit to manage medications or a chronic condition. These allow unhurried time for genuine conne c tion-building, long - term relationships, and making a direct difference through thorough assessments and proactive care . Back into the office for documentation and collaboration-no overtime overload . You end the day fulfilled, on time, in an atmosphere that supports balance and mutual respect . Requirements

  • Active Iowa RN license (required)
  • Home health or case management experience preferred (excellent training provided)
  • Strong communication, empathy, and organizational skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle for local Iowa travel
