The position involves assuming responsibility for caseloads consisting of patients in specialty areas. Documentation, communication with physicians, and facilitating discharge planning are also key responsibilities. The role includes participation in chart audits and continuous quality improvement activities, maintaining accurate clinical and patient records according to agency, state, and federal guidelines. The incumbent must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care and interpret information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs.
