About The Position

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA ) – Join Our Team at Varco Home Health Varco Home Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our growing team in DFW Texas. We are needing coverage in the Northwest, Northeast, Southwest and Southeast areas. This is a PRN (as-needed) position offering flexible scheduling—ideal for clinicians seeking work-life balance or supplemental income. As a PTA with Varco, you’ll play a vital role in helping patients regain independence through high-quality care delivered in the comfort of their homes. We are looking for a dependable, patient-centered clinician committed to providing evidence-based, individualized care.

Requirements

  • Active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Texas (TX)
  • Home health or rehabilitation experience preferred
  • Ability to adapt treatment approaches to meet individual patient needs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy practices and standards of care
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-centered approach
  • Valid Drivers License

Nice To Haves

  • Kinnser/WellSky EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist with Patient Evaluation: Support the supervising Physical Therapist by gathering patient information, observing functional abilities, and contributing to the development of care plans.
  • Implement Treatment Plans: Carry out individualized treatment plans created by the supervising PT to help restore mobility, improve strength, and enhance functional performance.
  • Provide Therapeutic Interventions : Deliver interventions including therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and functional mobility training.
  • Patient & Caregiver Instruction: Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, safety techniques, and strategies to support ongoing progress.
  • Monitor and Document Progress: Accurately document patient treatments, observations, and responses, and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
  • Collaborate with the Care Team: Work closely with the supervising Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
  • Home Safety Awareness: Observe and report any environmental risks within the home setting and reinforce safety recommendations provided by the PT.
  • Deliver Compassionate Care: Provide empathetic, high-quality care focused on improving patient independence and quality of life.
